What’s Happening?

Dale Earnhardt Jr and Budweiser are reuniting once again, this time to pay tribute to one of Earnhardt’s career-defining moments. For the Aug. 16 CARS Tour race at Anderson Motor Speedway, Budweiser and Earnhardt will run a special tribute to Earnhardt’s 2001 Pepsi 400 race win.

  • The paint scheme, in particular, was originally a special collaboration between Budweiser and the 2001 MLB All-Star Game. Earnhardt drove the car during his return to Daytona International Speedway in 2001, bringing home a late race win.
  • JR Motorsports has fielded a partial throwback to this car in the past, but this time around, Earnhardt and Budweiser will get as close as they can to the original paint scheme. The No. 8 will also carry supporting sponsorship from the MLB’s Aug. 2 Speedway Classic game at Bristol Motor Speedway.
  • On Oct. 22, JRM first announced that the sponsor and driver were reunited with a paint scheme. Earnhardt raced this car, donning his “stylized” No. 8 in the South Carolina 400 at Florence Motor Speedway on Nov. 23.
  • Earnhardt will race this car in the Aug. 16 CARS Tour Pro Late Model division race at Anderson Motor Speedway in Williamston, South Carolina. The green flag will drop at 5:00 p.m. EST, and the race will air live on FloRacing.
