What’s Happening?

Several sources have told the Daily Downforce that free agent Parker Retzlaff may remain in the Xfinity Series in 2025 with Alpha Prime Racing. While this is possible, there are other rumors surrounding Retzlaff.

Staying in Xfinity?

Sources in the garage have told the Daily Downforce that free agent Parker Retzlaff could move to Alpha Prime Racing in 2025. Retzlaff announced his free agency last week after moderate speculation.

Alpha Prime, which fields two full-time entries in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, recently re-signed Brennan Poole to drive the No. 44 in 2025. However, Ryan Ellis and sponsor Classic Collision will depart the team’s No. 43 entry for DGM Racing in 2025. Furthermore, Retzlaff could bring sponsor FUNKAWAY with him.

Retzlaff just wrapped up his sophomore season in the Xfinity Series with Jordan Anderson racing. After a disappointing year at the Xfinity level, Retzlaff found himself in the middle of Cup Series drama with Chevrolet at Daytona in August. Perhaps re-signing with a Chevrolet team could be a good showing for Retzlaff’s relationship with the manufacturer.

However, there are other credible rumors about Retzlaff’s future, these include another Chevrolet team in a lower level.

Retzlaff and Spire Motorsports?

Beyond the Alpha Prime talk, the nascarrumornostalgia account on Instagram posted that they were beginning to believe rumors that Retzlaff could join Spire Motorsports’ Truck Series program in 2025.

Spire is becoming one of the premier Chevrolet programs in the series, and this would be an amazing landing spot for the young driver. However, the same account previously reported a rumor that detracts from this.

This rumor stated that Andrés Pérez, the reigning ARCA Menard’s Series Champion, and Kaz Grala would join Rajah Caruth at Spire in 2025. The driver of the No. 77 for Spire in 2024, Chase Purdy, has already announced his departure from the team. This means that there is definitely one open seat on the team.

Either opportunity would be solid for Retzlaff, given his current status, and show a continued relationship with Chevrolet, something fans were worried about last season. Right now, though, most evidence is pointing more toward Alpha Prime as Retzlaff’s home in 2025.
