What’s Happening?
It looks like a long-term NASCAR Silly Season rumor is finally going to be confirmed. Since mid-August, rumors have circulated about RFK Racing, Ryan Preece, and Kroger, and an upcoming announcement might put an end to these rumors.
- On Tuesday, RFK Racing will make a major announcement. This announcement will include Brad Keselowski, Chris Buescher, and “others.” This announcement could be Kroger, Preece, or both. Bob Prockrass of Fox Sports confirmed that a PR person associated with Kroger “is on the advisory.”
- This past week, both Brad Keselowski and the RFK social media team have hinted at major things to come, including a post on Instagram of Brad Keselowski and Ryan Preece walking together following the NASCAR Cup Series season finale at Phoenix.
- Since mid-August, rumors have circulated that RFK racing will expand to a third car in 2025 with sponsorship from Kroger. Subsequent rumors have pointed to Ryan Preece, the former driver of Stewart-Haas Racing’s No. 41, as the driver of this expansion effort.
- Preece has had a quiet Silly Season prior to these rumors. This included him being the final SHR driver to have any real news about where he goes in 2025; perhaps Tuesday’s news will be the end of his free agency.
