What’s Happening?

Many consider Daytona International Speedway the crown jewel of American oval tracks. Not only is the racing top-notch, but the camping is as well. Here is everything to expect from NASCAR’s official camping notebook.

  • Since its opening in 1959, Daytona International Speedway has hosted the pinnacle of stock car racing, the Daytona 500. The track is one of two 2.5-mile ovals on the NASCAR schedule and features 31-degree banking and a sweeping tri-oval. In addition to the Daytona 500, it also hosts the world-renowned Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona.
  • The track has traditionally hosted two NASCAR race weekends a year. The Daytona 500 traditionally takes place in late February and has a weekend complimented by the NASCAR Xfinity Series, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and the ARCA Menards Series. The track’s second weekend traditionally took place in July but has now moved to late August and features the NASCAR Xfinity Series on Friday night and the Cup Series on Saturday Night.
