Sonoma Preview

NASCAR is taking right-handed turns this week, and this usually leads to an unpredictable race underdog, and unexpected winners are commonplace for NASCAR road courses. Luckily for us, Dale Tanhardt and Eric Estepp are here to help us form some predictions for Sonoma Weekend.

• Over the years in NASCAR we’ve seen certain drivers dominate over certain kinds of tracks, like Dale Jr on Superspeedeays, Truex at Intermediates and most recently Chase Elliot on road courses. Who is the best road course driver in today’s NASCAR? 
• Last year, NASCAR fans experienced a strange time when NASCAR decided to remove stage cautions from road courses. This year, stage cautions are back. Do you think stage cautions should be permanently removed? 
• The Aussie invasion is growing in NASCAR. After SVG did the impossible in Chicago last season and got an Xfinity series win last week, he’s joining the Cup Series in Sonoma. But he’s not alone. Will Brown and Cam Waters from Supercars will be joining him, too. Who do you think will finish the best out of them?
