Over the summer, a brand new Roblox NASCAR game piqued the interest of NASCAR fans. Well, we were able to catch up with the creator of the game, Tyler Bowen, to showcase some new things that the game will have.

Upgraded AI

Bowen highlighted the upgraded A.I. in an Xfinity Series race posted to his YouTube page. He highlights multiple different upgrades to the A.I. in the description of the YouTube video.

He called the A.I. still a Work in Progress, but he mentioned various improvements he is looking to make with them. Highlights include new engine sounds, A.I. detecting where the player is, A.I. slowing down for wrecks, A.I. slowing down on the player’s back bumper, and A.I. determining which lane to stay in. He also discussed some things he plans to do including A.I. slowing down for yellow flags, pitting, and changing lanes to make moves.

Game Features

Bowen also highlighted some new game features that he will include in the game. These range from brand new modes to different things to use in the single-player game.

He highlighted a couple of new game modes to be featured in the game including one based on NASCAR’s Burnouts on the Broadway that they did at Nashville. He also highlighted that he is working on getting a multiplayer mode in the game. He is also working on getting a super late model series roster in the game as well along with featuring creators.

Bowen also showed off on Twitter some new tracks that have been created by track creators. The two tracks highlighted here are Stafford Speedway and the Streets of St Louis.

As far as what to compare this game to, Bowen called Next-Era a game that will be “similarish” to NR2003. He also announced a Roblox game called National Racing 2003 to be released later this year.

No official release date of Next Era has been announced as of yet. However, Bowen is putting a lot of time and effort into this, and it looks to be shaping into a great alternative to NASCAR console gaming in the state that it is.
