NASCAR fans love examples of cheating, seeing a team or driver bend the rules of the sport to get the most performance possible. But you know who doesn’t like cheating? NASCAR. Today, The Daily Downforce will tell us about some harsh consequences NASCAR has handed out for cheating.

• When Richard Petty started to go through one of his first-ever dry spells, his team decided to give him an oversized engine to ensure he won at Charlotte. NASCAR gave him a penalty that caused Richard Petty to leave his team. Do you think this was a fair consequence of cheating?
