In NASCAR’s 75 year history, there have been many numbers come and go. On any given weekend you will see 36-40 unique numbers on the track. We take a look at Numbers 21-25 in this one.
Grant Enfinger is making his NASCAR Cup Series debut this weekend at the age of 38, which is quite up there by today’s standards. However, another driver was one year older when he began his first full-time season, and he became one of NASCAR’s 75 greatest drivers. That man is none other than “Handsome” Harry Gant.
The “Road Course Ringer” is an interesting piece of NASCAR history. Back in the early days when there were only one or two road courses on the schedule, certain drivers would skip road course races and give those rides to road course veterans. Nowadays, since road courses are far more common, and full-time drivers being more common now than ever, the Road Course Ringer is less common than it once was.
Ray Evernham…championship winning crew chief…race winning team owner…SRX Series founder…broadcaster…Reality TV star? Yes, Ray Evernham actually produced a pilot of a reality TV show featuring him and his wife Erin Crocker Evernham. The show was called Dirt to Diamonds, and it was released in 2012.
