Rain continued to pelt Daytona International Speedway all Monday morning, so, NASCAR and the race track announced that the Xfinity Series race would be moved once again. The race will now commence roughly 1 hour after the conclusion of the Daytona 500, with TV coverage on FS1 starting at 9 PM ET. Fans with tickets to either race are still allowed to attend both races.
- This is the third time this weekend the NASCAR Xfinity Series race has been moved. Originally, it was scheduled for 5 PM ET on Saturday, but, it was pushed up to 4:30 PM to accommodate the weather. It was later postponed to Monday at 11 AM after a deluge on Saturday before today’s news.
- To accommodate ticketholders for the rainouts, Daytona will allow ticketholders for either the Xfinity or Cup Series race to attend both races. The ticketholders for the race actively going on will have priority in seat selection. For example, during the Xfinity race, those with a Cup-only ticket can only sit in a seat not held by an Xfinity Series ticketholder.
- Fans just want to see this race happen. The weather has pelted Daytona all weekend long, and the weather continues to be a struggle.
