What’s Happening?

After a successful return to the NASCAR Cup Series schedule, Chicagoland Speedway appears to have built a strong case to remain on the calendar beyond 2026. Between a sellout crowd, an enthusiastic fan atmosphere, and an entertaining race, the weekend delivered many of the things NASCAR hoped for. While logistical issues and scheduling concerns still need to be addressed, there is growing optimism that Chicagoland has earned a longer-term future.

Despite some operational issues, the return to Chicagoland was widely viewed as a success. If NASCAR addresses the biggest fan complaints and gives the track several years to grow, Chicagoland Speedway could become a long-term fixture on the Cup Series schedule.
