Hailie Deegan is moving up to the Xfinity Series with AM Racing in 2024, and that means ThorSport has an open seat heading into 2024. Which drivers are candidates to take the seat in 2024?

Christian Eckes

Christian Eckes has enjoyed a breakout season with Bill McAnally so far this season with three wins. However, ThorSport is an organization perennially in championship contention in the Craftsman Truck Series. There are two major questions about this move.

First off, does he have the funding knowing he has relied primarily on Napa, a Bill McAnally sponsor, this season? Secondly, if he is successful where he now is, then why would he move? It’s a fair question, and it’s tough to know exactly how much interest Eckes will have in another ride.

Brett Moffitt

Brett Moffitt is a former series Champion, and his win last week at Talladega shows he can still get it done in good equipment. His plans for 2024 are still to be determined, and AM Racing has yet to officially announce if he will return

While he has a relationship with Front Row, ThorSport is just as good of a race team as Front Row, if not better. If Moffitt gets an offer, he will be sure to listen.

Frankie Muniz

Frankie Muniz has already teased that he wants to move up from ARCA in 2024. The question is where, and ThorSport is a Ford team. Muniz has been able to finish his ARCA season in large part because of support from Ford.

The question is whether or not ThorSport wants him, and will Ford continue the support. Muniz has driven well in ARCA, but will it translate?

Tyler Ankrum

Tyler Ankrum has yet to announce his plans for 2024, and he has shown flashes of potential in the past. He won his first race at Kentucky in 2019, but he has not won since. Could a change to better equipment be exactly what he needs?

ThorSport undoubtedly will provide good equipment for Ankrum to drive. The question is, as always, funding, and will Ankrum’s recent struggles keep ThorSport away?

Rajah Caruth

Rajah Caruth is a free agent for 2024, and ThorSport is one of the best rides that has opened up. Caruth has shown flashes in GMS equipment, but, will a seat at ThorSport be the change of scenery that he needs?

The question comes down to other options for Caruth. If he has options in Xfinity, which is possible, is he willing to stay in Trucks with the promise that he will compete for wins?

Grant Enfinger

Grant Enfinger is still trying to find his place for 2024, and maybe ThorSport could be the place to go. ThorSport has employed its’ fair share of Truck Series lifers from Matt Crafton to Johnny Sauter. Enfinger falls into that category, and, if he brings funding, this could work.

The problem with this would be whether or not Ford would want a younger driver in that seat. Deegan is a Ford driver, and they may want to replenish their young driver crop with someone younger.

ThorSport is one of the Truck Series’ most coveted seats in 2024, and they will have plenty of drivers who want to be there. Who will drive for ThorSport in 2024?
