Sam Hunt Racing has yet to officially announce its plans for 2024, and the Toyota outfit is a race team that some could be looking at for 2024. Which drivers are candidates to drive for Sam Hunt Racing in 2024?
Connor Mosack has run part-time in the Xfinity Series this season, and he has shown flashes of brilliance. However, he has not shown quite as much speed as Grala has. Then again, Mosack is much younger than Grala.
It’s possible that Hunt gives Mosack another season, and, if he can find enough funding, they may give him more races. How much can Mosack improve next season?
Corey Heim was a sensation in the Craftsman Truck Series this season. With Toyota running him in the Truck Series for another season, he may need some part-time opportunities with other Toyota teams.
Joe Gibbs Racing comes to mind, but Sam Hunt Racing is also an option. Heim ran four races for the team this season, and the relationship is already there. He finished a solid 10th at Darlington this year, so the performance is definitely there.
Sage Karam has participated in 12 Xfinity Series races this season, but his best effort came in Sam Hunt Racing equipment at Road America with a fourth-place finish. With that type of performance from Karam, Hunt may want him around more often.
However, Karam has other teams he races for including Alpha Prime. If they offer him more races, then maybe Hunt decides to go with the team he is the most familiar with. One thing is for sure, Karam has options.
A longshot yes, but Toni Breidinger brings with her a lot of sponsorship and a large following. If she makes the move up to Trucks full-time in 2024, then maybe some part-time Xfinity Series races are in order for her.
The issue with her is definitely her youth and inexperience, but she has shown what she can do in ARCA this year. There is definitely talent there, and the time may be coming when that talent begins to shine on bigger stages.
