Last Season
Last season, three drivers set out to win the Craftsman Truck Series title: Conner Jones, Layne Riggs, and Thad Moffitt. However, Riggs, by way of two wins and being the only one to enter every race, walked the title home with ease.
However, the 2025 rookie class is larger, and all drivers are in full-time rides. This includes exciting ARCA talents such as Andres Perez de Lara, Christian Rose, and Toni Breidinger, alongside interesting stories like Connor Mosack, Frankie Muniz, and Gio Ruggiero.
This Season’s Contenders
- Toni Breidinger – No. 5 – TRICON Garage
- Gio Ruggiero – No. 17 – TRICON Garage
- Frankie Muniz – No. 33 – Reaume Brothers Racing
- Christian Rose – No. 44 – Niece Motorsports
- Andres Perez de Lara – No. 77 – Spire Motorsports
- Connor Mosack – No. 81 – McAnally-Hilgemann Racing
Toni Breidinger – No. 5 – TRICON Garage
Toni Breidinger Joins Tricon Full-Time
What’s Happening? This morning, Joseph Srigley broke the news that Toni Breidinger has been tapped to drive the number 5 Tricon…
In 2025, Toni Breidinger finally gets her first full-time shot at the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series competition. Breidinger is one of the most well-promoted drivers at the lower levels of NASCAR, and many have anticipated her promotion as she takes over Dean Thompson’s No. 5 truck at TRICON Garage.
Last season, Breidinger entered every ARCA Menards Series race with Venturini Motorsports. After a solid 2023 part-time campaign, her 2024 effort saw no top-fives but a career-high 11 top-tens. She has four career truck series starts, including a solid outing at Daytona last season.
Gio Ruggiero – No. 17 – TRICON Garage
TRICON Garage Signs Another Full-Time Driver for 2025
What’s Happening? TRICON Garage has finally confirmed its 2025 lineup by announcing the signing of Giovanni Ruggiero on Monday. TRICON is…
Gio Ruggiero also benefited from the revolving door of promotions at TRICON Garage as he will take over Taylor Gray’s No. 17 truck in 2025. The 20-year-old has a long history of racing at the short track level, including a win at the Winchester 400 in 2023.
He has nine ARCA East races, including a full-season effort and a win in 2024. Ruggiero also made his ARCA touring series debut in 2024 with Venturini Motorsports, scoring seven top-fives, nine top-tens, and a pole in ten starts. He also finished as high as second three times for the team.
Frankie Muniz – No. 33 – Reaume Brothers Racing
Frankie Muniz in NASCAR: What You Need To Know
What’s Happening? Actor-turned-NASCAR driver Frankie Muniz announced Tuesday that he is going full-time racing next season. Frankie has been racing in…
The former star of Malcolm in the Middle, Frankie Muniz, and Reaume Brothers Racing are teaming up for Frankie’s first full-time season in a NASCAR National Series. Frankie is still acting alongside his Truck Series schedule and making his story one of the most interesting of 2025.
Muniz made his full-time stock car racing debut in the ARCA Menards Series in 2023, scoring 11 top tens in 20 races. Last year, Muniz made his National Series debut in two Xfinity and four Truck Series races. His best finish with RBR was 29th at Kansas.
Christian Rose – No. 44 – Niece Motorsports
Christian Rose is one of the newest faces in the Craftsman Truck Series in 2025. The 29-year-old only has two starts in the series in 2023. However, he is coming off back-to-back full-time seasons in the ARCA Menards Series.
With AM Racing in 2023 and 2024, Rose had five top-fives and 23 top-tens. While Rose had a lower average finish in 2024 rather than 2023, he scored a career-high three top-fives in last season.
Andres Perez de Lara – No. 77 – Spire Motorsports
The most decorated driver of the 2025 Truck Series rookie class is, by far, Andres Perez de Lara. Coming off a championship season in the ARCA Menards Series, Perez de Lara may be the next great talent from REV Racing as Nick Sanchez heads to the Xfinity Series.
While Perez de Lara is not racing for REV in the Truck Series as Sanchez did, he is with the top Chevrolet team, Spire Motorsports. Perez de Lara failed to win in ARCA during his two full-time seasons. However, he showed the skill that few matched, with 33 top-tens in 41 career races.
Connor Mosack – No. 81 – McAnally-Hilgemann Racing
Connor Mosack is perhaps the most experienced driver of this rookie class. With 28 Xfinity Series starts and 11 in the Truck Series, this year is a special one for Mosack as he finally has a full-time ride in the NASCAR National Series with the growing McAnally-Hilgemann Racing.
Mosack, more known for his road racing ability, had a breakthrough in part-time ARCA starts in 2023 and 2024, scoring a win at Kansas in back-to-back seasons. He joins former Xfinity Series Champion Daniel Hemric in a veteran roster at MHR in 2025.
This page will be updated as the season goes on, showing the standing between the two drivers.
