What’s Happening?

This morning, Joseph Srigley broke the news that Toni Breidinger has been tapped to drive the number 5 Tricon Garage entry in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. The plan is for her to compete full-time for a championship and Rookie of the Year honors. Breidinger replaces Dean Thompson, who has driven the truck for the last 3 full-time seasons. Her effort will be sponsored by Raising Cane’s, CELSIUS, and Sunoco.

  • Toni Bedinger has been a TRD development driver for several years now. She cut her teeth down in the ARCA Menards Series, driving several part-time seasons and two full-time seasons. She’s looking to grow and develop as a driver, eventually making it to the higher ranks.
  • Tricon Garage has a number of strong entries, being TRD’s primary feeder team in the NASCAR Truck Series. The team nearly won the title two straight years with Corey Heim. They’re hoping to continue building on that success come 2025.

About Toni Breidinger

Toni Breidinger is a rising young star in the world of NASCAR. She made her ARCA debut in 2018 with Venturini Motorsports. She finished 10th in her debut with the team at Toledo Speedway. Toni followed that run up with a 12th-place effort at Gateway. Then, she took a sabbatical from racing before returning to ARCA in 2021. In ’21, Breidinger split a partial schedule between Young’s Motorsports and Venturini. She eventually went full-time for the latter team in both 2022 and 2024. Her best ARCA finish to date is a third place at Kansas Speedway in 2023.

She made her debut in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2023. She ran three races that season, scoring a career-best 15th-place finish at Kansas. Her most recent start in the Truck Series came in the 2024 season opener at Daytona for Tricon’s #1 entry. After being involved in an incident, she finished the race in 27th.

Around the Garage

The driver left on the outside of all of this is Dean Thompson. Dean drove the number 5 truck full-time for 3 straight seasons before he and Tricon parted ways. It is currently unknown what the future holds for Thompson. We will update his status as details become available. This is the official statement he posted to X (formerly Twitter).

Conclusion
