What’s Happening?
Last fall, team owner Dale Earnhardt Jr. claimed that former JR Motorsports late model talent Connor Hall was looking to jump to the truck series in 2026, but since then, the 28-year-old has yet to announce his plans for the new year.
JR Motorsports’ Late Model Driver Looking For Truck Series Ride
What’s Happening? According to Dale Earnhardt Jr, JR Motorsports’ top Late Model Driver, Connor Hall, is looking to make the jump…
What We Know
Last season, JR Motorsports driver Connor Hall fell short of the CARS Late Model Stock Tour Championship by just ten points to Landen Lewis.
Despite falling short of the title, per team owner Dale Earnhardt Jr on the September 9, 2025, episode of The Dale Jr Download, Hall was setting his sights on the next level of racing.
According to Earnahrdt, Hall would not return to JRM in 2026, instead opting to pursue racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series 2026.
In recent years, many drivers have made the jump from the CARS Tour to either the ARCA Menards or Craftsmen Truck Series on both part-time and full-time schedules.
Even this past off-season, Hall’s 2025 championship rival Lewis scored a part-time gig in the series as the anchor driver for Niece Motorsports’ No. 45 truck.
But, as the offseason has rolled forward, with driver after driver scoring full-time gigs for 2026, there was radio silence from Hall on the Silly Season front.
This included major openings at teams like Niece, TRICON Garage, ThorSport Racing, and McAnally–Hilgemann Racing.
Some fans even theorized he could be a part of the cast of Ram Truck’s reality game show Ram Race for the Seat, but when the brand released the list of competitors, Hall was again nowhere to be found.
So, with just weeks until the new year kicks off, what options are left for Hall?
The Complete 2026 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Driver Roster (So Far)
What’s Happening? The 2026 NASCAR Season is fast approaching, and teams are setting their lineups for the coming season. This article…
Where Does He Land?
If Hall is still in the running for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series seats, most of the top rides are full, though there are a few openings.
For example, try TRICON Garage and their No. 5 entry, recently vacated by Toni Breidinger. There are even opportunities at Niece Motorsports still, who is running one full-time driver, Andrés Pérez de Lara, alongside three trucks that will race with a rotation of drivers in some capacity.
Niece’s 2026 Lineup (So Far)
- No. 4: TBA
- No. 42: Tyler Reif, Connor Jones, Parker Eatmon
- No. 44: Andrés Pérez de Lara
- No. 45: Landen Lewis, Ross Chastain, Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
Per some recent posts on social media, it seems that the No. 45 team’s roster is set, though there might be races open in the No. 4 or No. 42.

In particular, the No. 4, recently relaunched from the ashes of the team’s former No. 41, is interesting, as the team has yet to announce plans for its lineup.

Ironically, Hall actually has ties to this number racing for Niece, as he drove a No. 4 late model for Niece in November’s South Carolina 400 at Florence Motor Speedway.
In fact, Hall seems to be tied to the team as of late January, posting a picture of the No. 4 at the 400 the same day that Niece announced the No. 41 team’s conversion to the No. 4.

While this is hardly proof that Hall is headed to Niece on a full-time or even part-time schedule this year, it is a good sign for a fan favorite of the grassroots level.
To date, the 28-year-old Virginia native has one Truck Series start to his name, though, in that start, driving the No. 91 for McAnally–Hilgemann Racing at Richmond Raceway in 2024, Hall impressed, finishing tenth ahead of drivers like Matt Crafton, Corey Heim, and Rajah Caruth.
If Hall is truly headed to the Truck Series this year, whatever team he ends up with will likely be getting a driver with the raw talent to perhaps bring home a win this year.
