What’s Happening?
With talks about iRacing Studios’ next NASCAR console game, NASCAR 26, heating up, let’s take a look at what platforms the second iRacing NASCAR game could be released on.
iRacing Exec Confirms NASCAR 26 Console Game is “Well in the Works”
What’s Happening? An iRacing executive confirmed that the studio’s next NASCAR console game, NASCAR 26, is currently deep into development during…
What Are iRacing’s Options?
As far as consoles go, there are really only three options for iRacing: PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
While PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series X/S are going to supply the best console options, the Switch 2’s size and hardware could limit the experience of a game like NASCAR 26.
Of course, that doesn’t mean this is entirely off the table. Motorsport Games, the NASCAR game developer that preceded iRacing Studios, released two, albeit very substantially stripped-down, NASCAR games, NASCAR Heat Ultimate Edition+ and NASCAR Rivals, to the original Nintendo Switch.
Still, any hints that the game could make an appearance on Switch have yet to be seen.
What Did NASCAR 25 Come Out On?
When iRacing first announced its plans to develop NASCAR 25, then an untitled NASCAR game, the original teaser trailer featured the PlayStation, XBOX, Switch, and Steam logos.
Together with @iRacing, we're set to deliver a brand-new NASCAR simulation-style console game in 2025 with everything you've been asking for.

As time went on, rumors and speculation suggested that the game would only be released on the XBOX Series X/S and PlayStation 5, leaving early talks of a Switch port off the table.
Fortunately, when iRacing confirmed NASCAR 25’s launch platforms last summer, a PC version via Steam was confirmed, though the release would not join the PlayStation and Xbox releases on October 14; instead, the PC launch date was set for November 11.
Are There Any Clues?
Most NASCAR fans would assume that the game could see a similar list of platforms as last year.
While iRacing has not addressed NASCAR 26’s launch platforms, during a recent episode of its in-house podcast, iRacing Downshift, iRacing’s Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Kevin Bobbitt, confirmed that both NASCAR 26 and the company’s planned IndyCar game are “Well into development.”
Specifically, regarding the IndyCar game, Bobbitt noted that the studio’s plan is a “Console and Steam” release.
Though this does not clear the air on what consoles this could be on, Bobbitt’s comments suggest that iRacing Studios is committed to Steam releases, plans that could carry over to the next NASCAR console game.
