What’s Happening?
An iRacing executive confirmed that the studio’s next NASCAR console game, NASCAR 26, is currently deep into development during a recent podcast episode.
As the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season rolls into the summer months, fans and gamers alike are starting to ask questions about the next iteration of iRacing Studio’s line of NASCAR console games.
iRacing released its first NASCAR console game, NASCAR 25, last fall to mostly positive reviews from the NASCAR community.
The game, the first official NASCAR multi-platform console game since late 2021, was one of the most anticipated NASCAR games ever. To meet the hype, iRacing slowly released info throughout the year leading up to its release.
This included in-game screenshots, development update videos, and the occasional new drop on social media. But, six months into the new year, fans have pointed out that there is little to no information on this year’s version of the game.
That changed Monday afternoon during the latest episode of the iRacing Downshift podcast.
During this episode, iRacing’s Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Kevin Bobbitt, confirmed that the game is “well into development.”

Clearing the Air
While some names at iRacing, specifically Dale Earnhardt Jr., who is once again heading up the game’s soundtrack, have given a few notes about the next NASCAR console game, one important takeaway from Bobbitt’s comments quells some fears that fans had about the next game.
With the slow rollout of info on NASCAR 26, some fans in the online community had speculated that, for this year, iRacing could adopt a 2026 overlay, similar to what EA Sports did with F1 25, by supplying a DLC that overhauled the game for the 2026 season.
Of course, iRacing never announced or even hinted that this could be a possibility. Now, with Bobbitt’s comments, this speculation, at least as of now, is proven to be false.
Still, this episode left fans with little to work with beyond the development of a new game, with Bobbitt noting that he did not have any details to share about the game, saying that those updates will come in due time.
“I think that you will see some news on that in the very near future,” Bobbitt said. “We’ll say #soon. Some news that’s coming, but I can’t say more than that. Excited about it, some cool stuff that we’re working on.”
