Martinsville Weather History
Weather has generally not been much of a factor during the Martinsville fall weekend. The last time the fall race at Martinsville was rain-shortened was all the way back in 1976. Primarily, weather has impacted the spring race at the track with the 2021 spring race postponed from a Saturday night to a Sunday afternoon.
Martinsville was also the site of the first oval track race on a damp race track in NASCAR history back in the spring. The Craftsman Truck Series ran on wet weather tires after a rain delay. The race was eventually halted when rain too heavy to race in came through, and Corey Heim took home the win.
It seems it could be unseasonably warm this weekend at Martinsville. Could that play a factor in the race we see this weekend?
