The streets of Chicago are known for rush hour gridlocks, and the NASCAR Cup Series had a gridlock of their own thanks to a major wreck.

NASCAR is racing on a street course for the first time in the sports 75 year history, and with street courses come tight corners and narrow racing lanes.

Because of these narrow lanes, it doesn’t take much for the surface to become clogged with sideways cars, and that very thing happened in Chicago at the Street Course.

See below for the carnage that ensued after a massive pile up caused absolute gridlock until the wreckage could be cleared.
