What’s Happening?

The lower-tier series of NASCAR often takes a little longer to make major Silly Season moves, and the Truck Series is no exception. That doesn’t mean we can’t anticipate what could happen. We’ve already discussed some moves in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, so here is a look at the Truck Series.

  • Any full-time Truck Series driver is eligible for this list. These are the drivers fans tune in to watch every week, and these drivers make up the future of NASCAR.
  • Drivers on the move can head to multiple different places. Some may move straight up to Cup, another Truck Series operation, or even the Xfinity Series. Others may see their NASCAR journeys end here.
  • Fans are interested in seeing more Truck Series drivers on the move for 2025. These moves are often where drivers find their first big break.

Christian Eckes

Christian Eckes is reportedly a candidate for the third Front Row Motorsports Cup Series ride. It would be the end of a long road if he joined the team to the Cup Series, as Eckes has blossomed over the last two seasons. However, he has a lot of competition for the ride.

Should Eckes not get the FRM ride, he would probably stay in the Truck Series with McAnally-Hilgemann Racing, which would give him another year with a good team. The best way to attract Cup Series attention is to continue winning races, which Eckes can do.

Ty Dillon

Ty Dillon is in his first full-time season with Rackley W.A.R. and has struggled. He sits 19th in points with only one top-10 finish 14 races into the season, which is surprising given that Dillon has three career wins in the series.

Dillon has the funding and connections to sell himself to many places. He could stay in the Trucks, but he could also jump somewhere else. He has won at both the Xfinity and Truck Series levels, so he has credibility, too.

Chase Purdy

Chase Purdy has been a disappointment in his first season with Spire Motorsports. He is well outside of the Playoffs, while the other Spire-affiliated cars have won races. Could Purdy be on the hot seat heading into 2025?

Chevrolet has some interesting prospects, such as Connor Mosack and Carson Kvapil. Could Chevrolet look to use Spire as a stop on the way up? If so, Purdy might be the first to go.

Corey Heim

Corey Heim’s jump to Cup is looking more unlikely as time passes. While he is one of the top prospects in NASCAR, recent reports and rumors have indicated that Purdy might not end up in the Cup next year.

Many fans would love to see Heim in the Cup next year, but he will eventually get there. He’s one of, if not the best, drivers in the Truck Series, and that reputation will carry him far as long as he keeps it up.

Daniel Dye

Daniel Dye is an interesting driver to watch out for. He’s made some occasional Xfinity Series starts for Kaulig Racing, and he is firmly on the bubble for the Truck Series Playoffs. Could he move to Kaulig in the Xfinity Series for more races next year?

If he has sponsorship money, he might. However, Dye might also keep with the same path he’s gone to this point, and he can keep developing at McAnally-Hilgemann Racing. He is a question mark like many other drivers on this list.
