When NASCAR fans and media saw the partial repave at Iowa Speedway, it became the most scrutinized race this season. However, it proved everyone wrong and delivered one of the best short track races in the NASCAR Next Gen era. The Iceberg is here to take us through all of the good things that happened for NASCAR fans this Iowa weekend.

  • North Wilkesboro, Sonoma, and now Iowa are all on the list of successful repaves this year, changing the trend that repaves ruin a track for a few years. What do you think caused this improvement in the sport?
  • One of the biggest storylines going into Sunday’s race was the number of tire failures that happened in practice. Fortunately, the teams were able to figure out these issues and limit them during the race. Do you think this race would’ve turned into a disaster if NASCAR hadn’t had a long practice session?
  • Less commercials, better commentary, no zoomed-up shots, and no weird gray filter were some of the many things that made the NBC broadcast significantly better than any Fox broadcast we’ve seen this season. What do you think it would take for Fox to step up and fix its problems?

hould all tracks have longer practice sessions? How good do you think the broadcast this week was? Let The Iceberg know all of your thoughts and questions in the comment section.
