What’s Happening?

A 1:24 scale diecast of Carson Hocevar’s 2025 Chili’s car sold for a shockingly high price following his first career win at Talladega Superspeedway.

Carson Hocevar finally scored his first NASCAR Cup Series win this past weekend, and the resulting talk of the town, aside from his celebration, is diecast.

This time, the topic hitting the NASCAR diecast collecting community is the final sale price of a recent eBay auction for a 1:24 scale diecast.

This diecast, a new, 1:24 scale RCCA Elite version of Hocevar’s 2025 Chili’s Ride the ‘Dente paint scheme, is a limited edition, as there were only 122 made last season.

The regular versions of this paint scheme in 1:24 scale are fetching high prices themselves; however, this one sold for a massive $1,076.03 (plus $13.99 shipping).

In fact, the auction only had a total of 13 bids, starting at $727.77 on April 22, and reaching the $1,000 threshold last evening.

Hocemania Running Wild

This is far from the first time a Hocevar diecast sold for a somewhat questionable high price. In fact, earlier this year, a Chili’s hat caught the eyes of the NASCAR community after it sold for $122.50.

That same week, in early February, a 1:24 scale diecast of Hocevar’s Zeigler paint scheme from his 2024 Rookie of the Year season also sold for $449.99.

The fallout of his win at Talladega has seen a high level of anticipation for the diecast, as Lionel reported minutes after sharing the pre-order link online that the influx of customers crashed their website.

Better yet, within hours, the race win diecast had already met the minimum order quantity in all ten of its versions, something rare in modern diecast collecting for a driver not named Earnhardt, Larson, or Elliott.
