Tyler Reddick Can Leave 23XI if the Team Is Without Charters in 2025 – Nov. 4

In a shocking twist to their ongoing lawsuit with NASCAR, 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports lawyer Jeffery Kessler revealed that sponsors and drivers like Tyler Reddick can leave the teams if they race without charters in 2025. He revealed this information during the Nov. 4 Preliminary Injunction hearing, which would have granted the teams their charters for the duration of the lawsuit. The teams were denied this injunction on Nov. 8 and refiled with new evidence on Nov. 27.

NASCAR Executives Tease Major Changes in Championship Race Press Conference – Nov. 8

In the Nov. 8 State of the Sport press conference, NASCAR President Steve Phelps and COO Steve O’Donnell sat down for a newsworthy press conference ahead of the NASCAR Championship. The two first teased a new manufacturer “close” to being ready to join NASCAR. Then, they suggested tracks like Darlington, Homestead, Charlotte, and Las Vegas as potential future hosts of the NASCAR Championship race.

Most importantly, they confirmed that the Playoffs are not going anywhere. Following Joey Logano’s improbable championship win, NASCAR Senior Vice President of Competition Elton Sawyer stated on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio that they are open to revising the system.

Parker Retzlaff Out at Jordan Anderson Racing – Nov. 14

On Nov. 14, Parker Retzlaff, a young driver in the Chevrolet system, confirmed that he is out at Jordan Anderson Racing following the 2024 season. Retzlaff had a tough season with the team following a wonderful 2023 rookie campaign. He did, however, have success in two Cup Series starts, finishing in the top ten in a drama-filled race at Daytona. Following that race, Chevrolet was reportedly upset with Retzlaff for not pushing Kyle Busch to the win. However, insiders suggest that this is not the reason Retzlaff and JAR are parting ways.

RFK Racing Adding a Third Car in 2025 – Nov. 19

After months of speculation, RFK Racing finally confirmed its expansion with the addition of a third car driven by Ryan Preece. This new car, the No. 60, will race full-time in 2025, leasing a charter from Rick Ware Racing. Kroger, a long-time sponsor of JTG-Daugherty Racing, jumped ship to RFK to make this expansion possible. Kroger’s addition makes RFK one of the most sponsored teams on the NASCAR Grid in 2025.

Introducing HYAK Motorsports – Nov. 20

On Nov. 19, fans driving near the former JTG-Daugherty Racing shop in Harrisburg, North Carolina, noticed that the team’s JTG branding was gone. This change followed a season-long rumor that the team would rebrand, with former minority owner Gordon Smith buying the majority share of the team. The team, now known as HYAK Motorsports, will continue to field the iconic No. 47 with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in 2025.

Despite Lawsuit, 23XI Racing Expands to Three Cars for 2025 – Nov. 20

Between its lawsuit with NASCAR and preliminary injunction hearings, 23XI Racing finally announced its expansion for the 2025 NASCAR season with Riley Herbst as the driver of the new No. 35. The first digit comes from the second digit of their original number, No. 23. The second digit comes from the second digit of their second number, No. 45. For some time now, insiders and the rumor mill suggested that the team would add this car with or without a charter.

Martin Truex Jr. Not Racing With 23XI in 2025 Daytona 500- Nov. 22

At the NASCAR Awards media availability, Martin Truex Jr., who is retired from full-time Racing, confirmed that his 2025 Daytona 500 entry would not be with 23XI Racing as expected. While the team is currently unknown, MTJ stated that “JGR is doing it somehow, ” suggesting that Joe Gibbs Racing will likely prepare this car and field it through a smaller team. He further stated that he will race part-time in the Xfinity Series in 2025, confirming a rumor from earlier this season.

The November Rumor Mill

Rick Ware Open To Selling Team?

Rick Ware Racing, who confirmed their downsizing when RFK announced the No. 60 car would lease one of their charters, was the most recent team to have rumors that owner Rick Ware was open to selling the team. The nascarrumornostalgia Instagram account, a relatively credible rumor mill account, said on Nov. 11 that Ware would sell for the right price, with fans utilizing part of the post as a riddle that 2024 driver Corey Lajoie and his father Randy could be the buyers. However, fans should note that rumors of teams selling or closing float around often and should be taken lightly.

Chandler Smith To RCR?

The nascarrumornostalgia Instagram account kept busy with its rumors in November. One of those included major NASCAR Free Agent Chandler Smith. Smith, who had a championship-caliber season in the Xfinity Series this past season, does not have a ride for 2025 due to some sponsorship and financial issues. This rumor suggested that Smith could race part-time for Richard Childress Racing’s No. 33 in the Cup Series in 2025. This is the only word of this rumor so far.

Parker Retzlaff to Alpha Prime Racing?

Parker Retzlaff is perhaps the most shocking free agent of the 2024 NASCAR offseason. After a tough year at Jordan Anderson Racing, Retzlaff is entering free agency late in the year. In mid-November, several of our sources said that Alpha Prime Racing, who recently lost Ryan Ellis, could be the landing spot for the young driver.

Dean Thompson to Sam Hunt Racing?

In mid-November, several sources confirmed that Dean Thompson would race full-time for Sam Hunt Racing in the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series. There was no confirmation of this at press time. However, Toni Briednerger has already announced that she will race his No. 5 truck in 2025, leaving Thompson as a technical free agent for now. According to our sources, this deal is done.
