What’s Happening?
The future of Stewart-Haas Racing continues to have ominous clouds on the horizon. Adam Stern of Sports Business Journal reports that sources within the industry view SHR as, “One of the teams, if not the team, most likely to sell a charter or multiple charters before 2025”. Stern also reported that teams interested include 23XI Racing, Trackhouse Racing, Legacy Motor Club, and JR Motorsports.
- Stewart-Haas Racing has gone on a noticeable downturn throughout the 2020s. The team has not won a race since the summer of 2022, and 2023 was the organization’s first winless season since Tony Stewart bought into the team in 2009. As of this writing, SHR has no drivers currently in Playoff position.
- This is not the only SHR story to be discussed this year. Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic reported in early March that SHR could likely split from Ford at the end of the season. If they split from Ford, that could open up the opportunity for SHR to downsize.
- Fans are curious about the future of SHR, and many are hoping to see them improve soon. Could this be a prelude to them improving?
