What’s Happening
NASCAR ’25 details continue to roll through, and keen-eared listeners of the Dale Jr. Download may have noticed a new nugget of information this past week. In the most recent episode, while discussing the game’s soundtrack, we learned who one of the voices in the player’s headset will be.
- On the Nov. 12 episode of the Dale Jr. Download, Dale Earnhardt Jr. discussed his trending post on X from last week, which asked fans for help with the game’s soundtrack. During this exchange, NASCAR spotter and guest host TJ Majors coughed and said, “I’m a spotter for it.” Earnhardt concurred, “TJ’s a Spotter For It.”
- This news about the new NASCAR console game is not as in-depth as some would hope for. However, it further shows the emersion that the team at iRacing is aiming for. This includes the little details like bringing on veteran spotter TJ Majors. Majors, currently the spotter for Brad Keselowski, is a long-time friend of Earnhardt.
- For those unfamiliar, a spotter in NASCAR is the “eye in the sky” figure for drivers. This key role in NASCAR allows drivers to navigate tight packs and mount a proper defense in on-track battles. In NASCAR gaming, a quality spotter is a fundamental part of the game’s immersion.
- NASCAR ’25 is the next NASCAR console game and will be developed by the sim racing company iRacing. iRacing purchased the NASCAR license late last year from Motorsport Games, which had a difficult yet short time as the exclusive producer of NASCAR games.
- NASCAR ’25 will be released in the fall of 2025. While little is known about the game’s development, it is a hot topic in the NASCAR community.
