What’s Happening?

iRacing’s newest update to their debut NASCAR console game, NASCAR 25, fixes a mysterious crash affecting users attempting to race in the game’s multiplayer mode.

  • Per the official NASCAR 25 social media page, the patch, which iRacing released Wednesday afternoon, was focused on a rare glitch that would crash games while loading multiplayer races.
  • While the issue is now resolved, many fans in several online NASCAR communities claimed that the glitch had not affected them. Nonetheless, crashes in multiplayer modes are somewhat common, with iRacing already addressing similar bugs in past updates to the game.
  • This patch was also the first in some time for NASCAR 25, with the most recent update to the game coming in early February. That update was more focused on expanding the game’s paint kit, alongside some smaller bugs.
  • Though the game is now somewhat outdated, with the rosters no longer reflecting their real-world counterparts, NASCAR 25 is still active in the NASCAR community. For example, NASCAR 25 and iRacing are co-sponsoring iRacing ace Rajah Caruth this weekend in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
