What’s Happening?

It’s a tripleheader weekend for NASCAR as the Trucks, Xfinity, and the NASCAR Cup Series head to Bristol Motor Speedway for the Xfinity Series regular season finale. Whether you are at the track or home, what does the forecast look like for this weekend in Bristol, Tennessee?

• Bristol Motor Speedway is NASCAR’s most iconic short track, hosting two race dates a year for the majority of its history. Of the two dates, the Night Race is the track’s top event, bringing a hot crowd and intense moments throughout the years.
• The NASCAR Cup Series has hosted two race weekends a season at Bristol since 1961. The Truck and Xfinity Series have a much shorter history of doing so, with the Xfinity Series having hosted two dates from 1985 to 2020, and resuming this season. The Truck Series hosted its first double date in 2024.
• Bad weather is no stranger to BMS, though, and that bad weather often flares up during the track’s spring events throughout the past few seasons. In the spring of 2024, cold temperatures didn’t delay the race, but could have played into the track’s high tire wear that afternoon.
