What’s Happening?

The sudden passing of NASCAR legend Kyle Busch has taken the NASCAR world by storm, with everyone from media members, teams, industry leaders, and drivers sharing their feelings about the two-time champion.

Drivers, Teammates, and Protégés

The emotions, of course, hit the drivers the hardest, many of whom have competed against Busch for nearly 25 years. One that stood out amongst the rest was from his long-time Joe Gibbs Racing teammate, Denny Hamlin, and long-time rival, Brad Keselowski.

Clint Bowyer, who battled Busch during the late 2000s and 2010s, shared a photo from their recent race at Dover Motor Speedway. In Bowyer’s first race since 2024, Busch would go to victory lane, something the FOX Sports Analyst was used to seeing.

Drivers in the Hendrick Motorsports Camp, including team chairman Rick Hendrick and Jeff Gordon, HMS drivers Kyle Larson and William Byron, and Spire Motorsports drivers Daniel Suarez and Carson Hocevar, also shared thoughts and moments with Rowdy.

One of the more personal notes shared online came from former Kyle Busch Motorsports driver John Hunter Nemechek, who wrote about what KFB’s guidance meant to his career. ARCA regular Amber Balcaen, and many other developmental drivers, shared their reactions and stories about what Busch meant to their careers.

Of course, much like Nemechek, Busch’s on-track career has touched the entire garage, with the current crop of NASCAR Cup Series regulars and part-timers, like Zane Smith, sharing thoughts and moments about their friend.

Teams

NASCAR is a sport unlike any other, and even if he may not have raced for a specific team, Busch was well remembered by those in the garage area.

A particularly emotional post came from Joe Gibbs Racing, Busch’s long-time home, which ended with a somewhat dramatic split. In their post, JGR pointed to his work as a driver, husband, and father.

Industry Members

The media, track owners, and many other industry members also joined the discussion on Busch’s passing, with many speaking to the unreal nature of this moment in the sport.

Busch’s Social Media Manager, Lucas Halbert, also shared the most recent photo he had of Busch with his family out at dinner.

Even those from outside the world of NASCAR took time to reflect on his legacy. This included tributes from the Drag Racing and Open Wheel world, as well as one from Country Music Star Blake Shelton.

Busch is survived by his wife, Samantha, his son, Brexton, and his daughter, Lennix.
