What’s Happening?

Garage 66 announced that it will enter the 2025 Southern at Darlington Raceway with driver Timmy Hill, marking the 32-year-old’s first start of the 2025 Cup Series season.

  • While this will be Hill’s first Cup Series race of the year, it is not his first NASCAR National Series start this season. He has made five starts with his team, Hill Motorsports, in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series thus far, finishing a best of 11th in the season opener at Daytona.
  • This race will also mark the 12th start of the season for Carl Long’s Garage 66 team, formerly known as MBM Motorsports, as they are entered into the 40-car field this weekend at Daytona. This year, the team has entered five different drivers, including the likes of Casey Mears, Josh Bilicki, and David Starr.
  • Hill has only made three Cup Series starts since the 2021 season, in which he entered 13 races for MBM. His most recent start came with the No. 66 team in last season’s Southern 500, where he finished 35th after exiting the race early.
  • Since his 2012 debut in the NASCAR Cup Series, Hill has made 143 starts in total with multiple teams. Hill has a career average finish of 34.8 and scored his best career finish of 14th at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2017, an outing which also marked the best finish for Long’s No. 66 team.
