NASCAR Teams and Drivers Cancel Plans After Kyle Busch’s Passing

What’s Happening?

In the wake of Kyle Busch’s abrupt and tragic passing, many NASCAR teams, drivers, and sponsors have opted to cancel or modify plans ahead of the Coca-Cola 600 weekend.

Late Thursday afternoon, NASCAR announced that two-time Champion Kyle Busch had suddenly passed away.

Busch, who won the Craftsman Truck Series race at Dover Motor Speedway just last Friday, was set to race and appear at several events this weekend as part of the buildup to Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600.

However, since his passing, many raceteams, drivers, and sponsors are now canceling or modifying plans for Fan Day events and autograph sessions out of respect for Busch.

Jiffy Lube/Joey Logano

Joey Logano’s appearance at a Charlotte Jiffy Lube is canceled.

RCR Merch Trailer

E2 Apparel, which operates many of the NASCAR merch haulers at race tracks, announced that the team will close the RCR merch hauler at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday.

Ross Chastain

Trackhouse Racing driver Ross Chastain has canceled an autograph session in Concord.

Coca-Cola Racing Family

Coca-Cola Racing Family members Chase Elliott and Bubba Wallace will no longer take part in a driver appearance at the Concord Walmart.

Charlotte Motor Speedway

Per Charlotte Motor Speedway, Ricky Stenhouse Jr will no longer be making his scheduled appearance at the Concord Cracker Barrel.

Kevin Harvick

Newly voted NASCAR Hall of Famer Kevin Harvick has canceled his autograph session at the Concord Cracker Barrel.

23XI Racing

23XI Racing has canceled events at its AirSpeed shop in Huntersville, which includes planned driver appearances and autograph sessions.

Trackhouse Racing

Fan Day activities at Trackhouse Racing are still ongoing on Friday; however, the team has opted to cancel driver appearances and autograph sessions.

RFK Racing

Likewise, Fan Day activities at RFK Racing are still ongoing on Friday, and the team has also canceled driver appearances and autograph sessions.

Hendrick Motorsports

Hendrick Motorsports has canceled all Fan Fest activities and events scheduled for Friday.
