NASCAR Team Confirms First Race With New Manufacturer

What’s Happening?

MBM Motorsports will enter its first race fielding a Ram Truck this weekend at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park.

• The team teased a switch from Ford to Ram Sunday morning, posting a photo of their No. 69 truck with a Ram body. While they did not announce when this truck would enter a race, MBM did so on Monday, confirming their plans to enter this weekend’s race.
• Jonathan Shafer, a 21-year-old with prior experience in the Truck Series, will pilot the truck for MBM. Shafer has a decent track record in ARCA and Late Model racing, but has failed to qualify twice this season for MBM.
• Even though changing manufacturers mid-season can be a major shift, something less consequential in the Truck Series, MBM is making history with this change. If the team makes the field for this weekend’s race, they will be only the second team to field a Ram Truck since the brand made its return to NASCAR earlier this season.
• So far in 2026, MBM has made three starts but failed to qualify or withdrew from the five other races they have entered. The team has a best finish of 29th with driver Tyler Tomassi at Atlanta in February.
