What’s Happening?
Following this past weekend, NASCAR has, as expected, suspended the tire changer and jackman for two teams who lost tires during Charlotte’s Memorial Day race weekend.

- The first team penalized for their lost wheel was Kaulig Racing’s No. 10 entry in the NASCAR Xfinity Series driven by Daniel Dye. Due to losing their left rear wheel and tire, NASCAR is suspending crew members Richie Williams and Jerick Newsome for the next two points events.
- The second team is Garage 66’s No. 66 NASCAR Cup Series entry, driven this past weekend by Josh Bilicki. Due to the team losing their right rear wheel, NASCAR has suspended crew members Brehanna Daniels and Ethan Hindman for the next two points events.
- Following these incidents, Dye would go on to finish 31st after starting 24th on Saturday, while, on Sunday, Bilicki would, in fact, improve on his finishing position. The No. 66 team finished 33rd after starting 38th, the team’s best finish since Bilicki piloted it to a 29th-place finish at the Roval last fall.
- In retrospect, Dye’s Xfinity Series race was much less memorable. His poor finishing position saw him snap a three-race lead lap finish streak and drop two spots in the points. However, Dye has had a rather solid season and could rebound well from such an outing.
