What to Watch For This Weekend

Truck Series

This is the Championship 4 cut-off race for the Craftsman Truck Series. Corey Heim is the only driver locked in thanks to his win at Bristol with Carson Hocevar a comfortable 23 points up. However, Christian Eckes, Nick Sanchez, Grant Enfinger, and Ben Rhodes sit within nine points above or below the cut line. However, the two drivers sitting in seventh and eighth in Ty Majeski (-23) and Zane Smith (-36) finished first and second the last time the Truck Series came to Homestead-Miami in 2022.

Xfinity Series

Homestead is the middle race of the Round of 8 in the Xfinity Series. The top 4 in the standings in John Hunter Nemechek (+47), Justin Allgaier (+21), Austin Hill (+19), and Cole Custer (+15) all sit 15 points or more above the cut-line. However, none of these drivers finished better than ninth a year ago at the track, with Sheldon Creed (-41) finishing the highest last year amongst this year’s Playoff drivers.

Cup Series

The favorite heading into this weekend’s race at Homestead is likely Kyle Larson, and he is the only Cup Series driver locked into the Championship 4. The three drivers in on points currently are William Byron (+11), Denny Hamlin (+4), and Martin Truex Jr. (+3), and they have all won at Homestead-Miami before. It could be an uphill battle for those below the cut line.

What awaits the NASCAR Stars heading into Homestead this weekend? The season is in the home stretch, and the Championship picture is getting clearer by the day.
