What’s Happening?

NASCAR released their official post-race penalty report on Tuesday, and Stewart-Haas Racing was hit hard. The #10 (Noah Gragson) and #41 (Ryan Preece) teams were each docked 35 drivers and owner points for “Improper roof air deflectors”. The penalty dropped Gragson to 37th in points with -6 points and Preece to 36th with 0 points.

  • This is not the first time SHR has been on the wrong end of NASCAR’s penalty report. This is the fourth time SHR has been penalized for something to do with the Next-Gen car. The biggest of those penalties came after the 2023 Coca-Cola 600, where the #14 team was penalized 120 driver/owner points, 25 Playoff points, and a $250,000 fine.
  • The penalty report also bopped Joey Logano for the webbed glove he used during qualifying. In addition to his pre-race penalties, Logano has been fined $10,000.
  • Fans are not surprised by this given SHR’s recent trends. Once again, SHR has been penalized.
