Over the years in NASCAR, we’ve seen prospects live up to their expectations and others fall just short. Today, The Daily Downforce will take us through the NASCAR drivers who were almost great.

• Many people may not remember, but JJ Yeley was once in one of the best positions a NASCAR driver could be in: the premier car of Joe Gibbs racing. He was replaced after only two years into his run. Do you think he was replaced too early?
