What’s Happening?

Amid tension surrounding the spike in resale prices of Kyle Busch diecasts, members in the NASCAR diecast collecting community have stepped up to raise money for a non-profit founded by Kyle Busch and his wife, Samantha.

Following the passing of NASCAR legend Kyle Busch, the NASCAR diecast collecting community has faced several challenges, including inflated prices for diecasts of the former Cup Series Champion.

Most theorize that some prices developed from a rush of collectors and fans looking to get their hands on diecasts that they felt could increase in price, with some auctions running up well over $500.

Still, some took advantage of the situation, listing diecast in all scales and even by rarity, at prices that some felt were opportunistic in the wake of Busch’s passing.

Of course, this was just a small portion of the diecast community, with others taking the opportunity to use their platforms to raise money in memory of Busch.

One such example is Circle B Diecast, which recently hosted a charity auction on the streaming platform WhatNot, something they said in an Instagram post was a direct response to eBay prices that “made us sick.”

As part of this auction, CircleB offered a win-win for fans, donating 12 1:24 scale diecast and 132 1:64 scale diecast, as well as covering all sellers’ fees on the platform.

Per Circle B, community members stepped up to the plate during their auction, raising over $11,000 for Bundle of Joy, a non-profit founded by the late driver and his wife, Samantha.

Since Busch’s passing, the website has seen a spike in donations, with fans flocking to donate what they can. This time, diecast collectors know that the money they spend will go to a cause supported by Busch, rather than a retailer.

As a bonus, Brent, the owner of Circle B, took his promise to round up the total to the next level, donating a rounded $15,000 to Bundle of Joy.
