Welcome back as we prepare for a wild weekend in Talladega, Alabama. The wildness ensues on and off the track, and boots are on the ground in the middle of the pandemonium to conquer it all.
But of course, you’re here for the on-the-track insight. What happens on Talladega Boulevard stays on Talladega Boulevard. And when I say that, I’m absolutely lying; I tell everybody everything about Talladega experiences.

I got 16-1, but 12-1 is also worth it. I’m surprised at Caesar’s not budging on the Top 3 line, which is close to what I grabbed him at.
Sheldon hasn’t gotten the finishes, but the eye test has shown us Sheldon is aggressive, runs up front, and in these superspeedway events. His teammate has been the pied-piper of the superspeedways in the series, but they have the same blazing-fast racecars.
He will start up front with excellent track position today, and I’m expecting a breakthrough for Sheldon to grab his first career win.
I’m on several guys to get their first win today, but Sam Mayer has proven to us he should be the favorite out of the JR Motorsports fleet after his runs at fall Talladega in 2022 and Daytona 2023. He finished 2nd at Talladega by a foot and crashed battling for the lead on the final lap in Daytona.
JR Motorsports hasn’t won yet in 2023 and Sam Mayer has never won in the Xfinity Series. Talladega is the ultimate equalizer and one of the top destinations for first-time winners. Sam will have a fast racecar today. 16-1 is worth a shot.
Moffitt is as cool as the other side of the pillow. P6 at Atlanta and a fast car at Daytona have me confident in the speed of the #25 as the books continue to doubt him.
I think there’s a decently high chance Moffitt leads the charge for the Fords. Two Top 10’s and one Top 5 in six Talladega starts with lesser equipment bodes well for a dark horse in Moffitt this afternoon.
Take the outright on Barstool. Take the Top 3 on DraftKings. Alfredo has also been a guy to lead laps and compete for wins in decent equipment.
Qualifying showed us that Alfredo has speed in his ECR affiliate ride and has competed strongly at these superspeedway events in 2022. I love Alfredo as a worthy darkhorse this weekend.
