Adam Stern reports that NASCAR is actively in talks with Montreal on bringing Circuit Gilles Villeneuve back to NASCAR. He says that NASCAR is looking at coming to the track as soon as next year.
- Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal was constructed and hosted its’ first Canadian Grand Prix in 1978. It hosts the Formula One Canadian Grand Prix every year, and it hosted the NASCAR Xfinity Series from 2007 until 2012.
- NASCAR has been more aggressive in terms of its’ schedule over the last few years with new events such as the Chicago Street Race, Nashville, and the LA Coliseum. Stern further reports that Steve Phelps said that, “Our 2024 schedule will probably be the most aggressive we’ve ever had in terms of continued variation (with new markets and tracks)”.
- Fans on social media raved about this move. Many fans want to see Montreal back on the NASCAR schedule in some capacity.

This would be a massively popular move if NASCAR were to return to Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal. It is one of the best racing faclilites in North America, and the local market would certainly support the race.
