What’s Happening?
The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series arrived at Pocono Raceway with an extended race distance, running 80 laps compared to the typical 60-70 laps from previous seasons. The opening two stages unfolded relatively cleanly, with long green-flag runs and minimal incidents.
However, the final stage brought a sharp change in tone. A series of consecutive cautions and multi-truck incidents disrupted the field, ending the day for several drivers. As multiple favorites encountered issues, whether through on-track incidents or penalties, Layne Riggs, who started from pole position, capitalized on the opportunity. Riggs took control in the closing laps and pulled away to secure his first win of the season.

Race Recap and Overview
First Stage
The first stage was quiet and spread out, with Corey Heim taking the lead on lap 1, after starting 3rd, and leading every lap of the stage until pitting with two laps to go, along with others. The size of Pocono Raceway allows for drivers to pit without losing a lap, and that way, many gave up the stage points for track position in stage 2. After a wreck by Cody Dennison, stage 1 was called, with Layne Riggs winning it.

Heim quickly passed Friesen, suffered some pressure from Carson Hocevar but pulled away and this time he stayed out to win the stage.

Final Stage
The final stage began with a flurry of incidents and strategy shifts. After Corey Heim passed Rajah Caruth, who had stayed out on older tires, for the lead, the race quickly turned chaotic. Multiple cautions followed in quick succession, resulting in over 15 laps run under yellow conditions. This extended caution period allowed teams to stretch their fuel mileage to the end without needing another pit stop.
Several race favorites fell out of contention during this stretch. Heim suffered a flat tire while leading, and shortly after, Carson Hocevar was penalized for a restart violation after jumping the start ahead of the control truck. With both front-runners out of the picture, Layne Riggs inherited the lead and capitalized, pulling away by more than four seconds to secure his first win of the season.
