What’s Happening?
Kaulig Racing has released NASCAR Xfinity Series veteran Josh Williams from the team, effective Wednesday. The team has no exact replacement driver to pilot their No. 11, though it is stated they will have “multiple drivers.”
Update: Kaulig Racing is bringing on Spire Motorsport’s Carson Hocevar to drive the No. 11 this weekend at Iowa.

- Kaulig announced the move in a post on X. As of press time, Williams is still listed as the driver of the No. 11 on this weekend’s entry list, though it appears that will likely change. In a post on his X account, the 31-year-old said he would” be back soon and looking forward to a much brighter chapter in my racing career.”
- The team gave no direct reason for Williams’ release, but performance could have influenced the decision. Kaulig made major changes to their Xfinity and Cup Series lineups this past offseason and looked to have a solid season, though they could be making another aggressive move to get back on track.
- Williams was the only driver from Kaulig’s full-time lineup to return in 2025, though he and his new teammates have put up lackluster statistics. While teammates Christian Eckes and Daniel Dye fail to meet expectations, Williams has a team-worst average start of 20.0 and an average finish of 22.8.
- From 2016 to 2024, Williams was a consistent entry in the Xfinity Series, specifically with DGM Racing. Despite the equipment, Williams stood out for his performance and personality, making a name for himself after parking his car in the middle of the track and walking away at Atlanta in 2023.
- Williams debuted for Kaulig last season, but struggled to match his teammates’ performance. This is a developing story.
