A recent social media post has NASCAR gamers asking if a long-requested feature is finally making its way to the newest line of NASCAR console games.
Thursday evening was a major news day for NASCAR gamers when iRacing Studios announced the launch of NASCAR 26, featuring 2025 NASCAR Cup Series Champion Kyle Larson on its cover.
Beyond the cover announcement, iRacing Studios shared a few other key details about the game, including that NASCAR 26 will release in September rather than October and that it will now feature a post-race burnout option.
But now, a post from NASCAR 26’s official social media has fans asking if another new feature, cross-platform online play, will be featured in the next title.
While iRacing has yet to officially confirm anything, in response to a user’s post asking whether it will have crossplay, the NASCAR 26 account responded, “👁️ 👁️.”
With the feature popular in many online games, and in particular online sports games, missing from the first iRacing NASCAR console game, players now have high hopes that the online mode in NASCAR 26 could turn a corner.

Though NASCAR 25 was praised for the depths of its career mode as well as its paint booth and realism, most players agreed that the game’s online modes left a lot to be desired.
For one, the server browser/lobby system created a logjam of half-filled lobbies with drivers of different skill levels waiting for long periods just to race against a handful of drivers.
With NASCAR 25 mostly in the rearview mirror, players in the online circles are extremely outspoken in their desire for a matchmaking system in future games.
Furthermore, if the game does feature crossplay, it would double, or even triple, the number of consistent online players for the game, making a matchmaking, or in this case, race-making, system worth its while.
