Before Ross Chastain’s “video game move” with the now famous Hail Melon at Martinsville it was Carl Edwards who accomplished such a feat. In the 2008 fall Kansas race he and Jimmie Johnson were in a tight hunt for the 2008 championship, and the winner of this race would lead the other in the points with only 7 races remaining in the campaign. With it we saw Edwards put up a move of both pure desperation and pure badass craziness that NASCAR is so readily known for. This is the time when Carl Edwards made NASCAR’s first video game move.
