Whether being favored by the fanbase or being loathed by them, Kyle Busch has been one of the most talked about NASCAR drivers of the last 20 years. In the years before 2023 though much of this talk was of his struggling performance and his deteriorating relationship with car owner Joe Gibbs and also most of Joe Gibbs Racing. With this it ended in 2022 when Busch ended up going over to Richard Childress Racing to drive his now open #8 car that was left vacant by the newest 23XI Racing driver Tyler Reddick.
