What’s Happening?

Camping at a NASCAR race is a tradition for many fans. However, fans who do not own a camper or RV still have a way to enjoy camping at a NASCAR race, by renting a camper. Yes, some NASCAR tracks offer the ability to rent campers for the weekend, but how do fans take advantage of this offer?

  • For this article, we will focus on renting an RV specifically for a NASCAR race including a spot. Not just renting an RV with no guaranteed spot.
  • We will break down how fans can take advantage of these deals. From where they can rent these RVs, to pricing, to what options they have.
  • Fans love to go camping at a NASCAR race, but, not everyone has the equipment to camp at a race. This offers fans the ability to camp at a race without owning a camper or RV.

Where Do I Rent From?

Where fans can rent from often varies from track to track. There are a few tracks where fans can rent directly from the race track, but, many tracks have partnerships with third-party sites. Tracks where fans can rent RVs directly include the following:

Here are some of the sites that tracks have official partnerships with where fans can rent RVs from. There are plenty of sites out there, but, these are the only ones where tracks officially mention it.

  • Phoenix Raceway: RVnGo (This site also mentions Martinsville, Kansas, and Talladega, but, none of those tracks have RVnGo on track websites)
  • Bristol Motor Speedway: RVshare
  • Dover Motor Speedway: RVshare
  • Pocono Raceway: RVshare
  • Watkins Glen International: RVshare
  • Homestead-Miami Speedway: RVnGo

There are also some other sites to look out for. However, these are not sites where every track officially lists their affiliations with on their website, so, proceed with caution.

How Much Does it Cost?

Now, this slightly depends on what the tracks are offering. Most tracks only partner with the company. to rent the RV, but, the spot may need to be paid for separately.

However, Michigan offers fans a plan to deliver the RV to their campsite. Fans do not have to worry about getting the RV there, the track will set the RV up for them and let the party begin! This does cost a pretty penny, however, with fans spending between $2,000 and $6,550 depending on which RV and where they will camp.

As far as the typical rental RV plans on the sites that tracks are affiliated with, fans are spending at least $100 per night on the low end and upwards of $250-$300 per night on the high end. This also largely depends on which RVs are available near the fans as well because companies like RVnGo and RVshare have RV rentals stocked at various locations. This means fans may spend between $400-$1200 for the entire weekend (4 nights) just to rent an RV before factoring in how much their spot costs, groceries, and other expenses for a camping weekend. Below is a breakdown of the lowest prices for camping at each race track.

At Bristol Motor Speedway, for example, the cheapest camping spot is $125 for a weekend. That’s for a site with no electric hook-ups. The cheapest site with hook-ups at Bristol is $400. All of this is according to bristolmotorspeedway.com.

Overall, fans can expect to roughly spend at least $800-$1600 to rent an RV and buy a spot for a weekend. Again, that’s before factoring in food, transportation costs, race tickets, etc.

Renting an RV can be a unique way for fans to enjoy a NASCAR race weekend. However, it may cost a pretty penny.
