Earlier this week, we asked the question to the fanbase whether or not the Dillon Brothers have held back Richard Childress Racing. The fans came through with some interesting ideas for whether or not the Dillon Brothers have held back RCR during their time in the Cup Series.
Yes, the Dillon Brothers Hold Back RCR
Many fans point to the Dillon brothers as the reason why RCR has experienced a decline in performance in recent years. For many fans, the answer to this question seems obvious, so, many fans did not elaborate too much on this point. However, others pointed out the success of other RCR drives such as Kyle Busch and Tyler Reddick. Others pointed out how, without the Dillon brothers, it could have opened up other seats in the series.

Blame Austin, but Not Ty
Some people look solely to Austin as the one who has held back RCR. This is primarily because Ty has never driven an RCR car in the Cup Series, and he has not run RCR equipment full-time since he was in Xfinity. Austin, however, has run for RCR throughout his entire career.

No, They Do Not Hold Back RCR
Some people do not believe that the Dillon brothers hold back RCR at all. They look to some of the accomplishments of Austin in particular in the lower series and his four Cup Series wins as a reason. They believe it is unfair for the Dillon brothers to be blamed.
