What’s Happening?
This month, some of the best dirt drivers in the world all convene at the Tulsa Expo Center for the annual Chili Bowl Nationals. Alongside these dirt aces, top names from the world of ARCA and NASCAR will also take their shot at Chili Bowl glory.
- The Chili Bowl Nationals is one of the most prestigious dirt races in the country. The annual event has seen names like Kyle Larson, Tony Stewart, Sammy Swindell, and Rico Abreu bring home A-Main victories after multiple days of midget car racing.
- Of course, an event of this stature attracts drivers from across the world of racing, including some from the world of NASCAR and even IndyCar. This year, several active NASCAR drivers and NASCAR Alumni joined the pack, hoping to win big in Tulsa.
- The 2026 Chili Bowl Nationals will have well over 300 entries set to battle it out starting on January 12, with the first of four qualifying nights leading up to Championship Saturday on January 17. An entry list and schedule of events for the 2026 Chili Bowl Nationals can be found on chilibowl.com.

There are also non-active NASCAR alums entered into this year’s Chili Bowl Nationals.
Santino Ferrucci made nine starts across 2021 and 2022 in the NASCAR Xfinity Series before turning his full attention back to open-wheel racing, where he currently races full-time in the NTT IndyCar Series for A. J. Foyt Racing.
Todd Kluever, a former NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Rookie of the Year, has not competed in NASCAR since a one-off Truck Series WWT Raceway in 2009.
Perhaps the most interesting name NASCAR fans will be familiar with is Dillon Welch, who is not known for his racing, but rather his broadcasting, working as a pit road reporter for the NASCAR Cup Series on NBC and the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series on the CW.
