What’s Happening?

Legacy Motor Club announced on Sunday night that Erik Jones has been released from University of Alabama-Birmingham (UAB University) Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. Jones will return to his home in North Carolina, but, no further update was given on his condition.

  • Jones was involved in a horrifying crash late in the GEICO 500 at Talladega. After his car shot head-on into the outside wall, Jones’ car came to a stop in the infield grass. He exclaimed to the crew over the radio that he needed assistance due to pain in his back.
  • Jones was originally checked and released at the infield care center, telling the media that he was “Sore”, but, that he would ultimately be alright. After the race concluded, NASCAR announced that Jones returned to the infield care center, and was transported to UAB University Hospital, where he was released later that night.
  • Fans were incredibly concerned about Jones’ hard hit on Sunday afternoon. The Fox broadcast noted that it took a while for Jones to get out of the car, so, fans could sense that something wasn’t right.
