Dale Earnhardt Jr. is still not done racing! He has begun dropping hints about his 2024 racing schedule, and we are here to keep track of all of them. Here is the latest on Dale Jr.’s 2024 schedule.
- Dale Earnhardt Jr. retired from full-time competition in 2017, However, he has not stopped racing. He usually competes in 1-2 Xfinity Series races per season plus a few late-model races.
- He also is no longer under contract at NBC. This gives him the freedom to potentially race anything he wants to. The latest news he gave on his 2024 schedule came on the first episode of the Dale Jr. Download back in February.
- Fans are always looking for when Dale Earnhardt Jr. will race again. He still has a loyal legion of fans, making his racing schedule big news.

The most recent confirmation of Earnhardt Jr.’s 2024 schedule came on the February 8th episode of the Dale Jr Download. He laid out both his confirmed plans and where he might want to race in 2024.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. also teased a major, Sun Drop-themed announcement on social media. Sun Drop has sponsored many of Dale Jr.’s late model races, so, this could be related to some of these races he mentioned he wants to run.
CONFIRMED February 10th: The Icebreaker at Florence Motor Speedway (Finished 4th)
The first race of Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s 2024 season came in The Icebreaker at Florence Motor Speedway in South Carolina. Earnhardt Jr. drove the #3 Bass Pro Shops car alongside his teammate, Carson Kvapil, in the #8 car. Dale Jr. quietly worked his way up from the 13th starting spot to 4th by the end of the race. A massive improvement over a 16th-place finish at the race in 2024.
CONFIRMED April 13th: CARS Tour at New River All American Speedway
Dale Earnhardt Jr. makes his first CARS Tour start of the year at New River All-American Speedway in Jacksonville, North Carolina. This will be his first career start at the track.
CONFIRMED July 20th: Hampton Heat at Langley Speedway
Dale Earnhardt Jr. returns to the driver’s seat this summer at Langley Speedway. This one comes in the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series.
CONFIRMED August 30th: CARS Tour at Florence Motor Speedway
Dale Earnhardt Jr. will make another CARS Tour start at Florence Motor Speedway in August driving the iconic Sun Drop car. This might not be his last stop at the track this racing season either.
CONFIRMED September 20th: Xfinity Series Food City 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway
Dale Earnhardt Jr. announced that he would race again at Bristol in 2024. He made his Xfinity Series return at Bristol in 2023, leading 47 laps before mechanical troubles ruined his day. The 2023 race at Bristol was the first start he had at Bristol in the Xfinity Series since 2017. His most famous Bristol moment came in 2004 when he swept the Xfinity and Truck Series races during the Night Race weekend.
Rumored: Late Models
In the above episode of the “Dale Jr. Download”, Earnhardt Jr. laid out where he could race this year. He said he expects to race a late model again this season. Here are his full comments.
We’re [The CARS Tour] racing [North] Wilksboro at the end of the year, and I might be available to be able to compete in that race at Wilkesboro. I’m going to run my Late Model a couple times, probably at Florence three times. They’ll have a race before Darlington in the the second half of the year that I’ll probably run. If you’re at Darlington, come out and see us, and then The South Carolina 400 at the end of the year I might run. Probably going to slide a race somewhere in the middle there in the CARS Tour

October 19th: CARS Tour @ North Wilkesboro Speedway?
Earlier in the show, Earnhardt Jr. said that he will likely not be available to compete in the CARS Tour race at North Wilkesboro in May, but the fall race might still be open. This race also functions as the season finale of the CARS Tour, and Earnhardt Jr. raced there during the “Racetrack Revival” in 2022.
November 23rd: South Carolina 400 at Florence Motor Speedway
Dale Jr. also floated the possibility of racing in the South Carolina 400 in 2024. He finished a solid 8th in a stacked field of late-model superstars in this race in 2023. JRM had a good night as a whole in the 2023 race, with Carson Kvapil finishing 3rd. However, Dale Jr. did not confirm totally that he would run this race.
