What’s Happening?
Corey Heim recently shared that Carson Hocevar texted him after the pair had locked horns in a wreck during the closing laps of Sunday’s race at Naval Base Coronado.
Back in 2023, during the NASCAR Truck Series Championship race, then Niece Motorsports driver Carson Hocevar wrecked then Tricon Garage driver Corey Heim.
And from that day on, NASCAR fans have wondered if the pair had any residual beef from the incident that technically cost both of them a championship.
Nearly three years later, the two crossed swords again at San Diego this past Sunday, except this time, it was Heim who put Hocevar in the wall and out of the race.
After that incident, fans and industry members wondered if the two would come to blows again, though, during a recent interview, Heim suggests that Hocevar feels they are now even with one another following the wreck at San Diego.
Speaking to Eric Estepp on the latest episode of NASCAR Film Room, Heim spilled the beans, saying, “He [Hocevar] was really cool about it. He said, ‘I’ve had that coming for several years now, and congrats, enjoy it.’ He obviously just won his first race a couple of months ago. So, he said it’s a special feeling, like enjoy it, whatever.’ So, I responded, just said, ‘Thanks. Yeah, fair enough.’ And that was it.”
The Fall Out of Sunday’s Wreck
With 12 laps left to run in Sunday’s race at Naval Base Coronado, Heim sent the No. 77 of Carson Hocevar spinning through that final chicane.
Neither man cared to talk about the incident on Sunday, but Corey Heim hit back at a fan on X by turning Carson Hocevar’s own words on him after a fan posted, “Had to spin out Hocevar to win it. #77 will remember.”
In return, Heim fired back at that post with a clip of Carson Hocevar from an older interview, where the Spire Motorsports driver was heard saying, “Well, just get the f**k out of the way, and there wouldn’t be a wreck, you know what I mean? Just move. Just move out of the way.”
Carson Hocevar Shoots Back at Corey Heim’s Online Jab
What’s Happening? Following their on-track run-in at Naval Base Coronado this weekend, NASCAR drivers Carson Hocevar and Corey Heim shared subtle…
Hocevar, giving the man his due, answered Corey Heim’s post with nothing more than a photo of Dexter parked in a chair.
During Hocevar’s recent substitute hosting opportunity on The Dale Jr Download, he hinted that their on-track rivalry might be far from done and dusted.
Hocevar said he’s “looking forward to racing his [Heim’s ]ass off for 20 years. I do enjoy racing him on the truck side,” still, Heim’s response to Hocevar’s text and congratulations seemed to indicate that maybe the water has flowed under the bridge, at least for the time being.
