What’s Happening?
Following their on-track run-in at Naval Base Coronado this weekend, NASCAR drivers Carson Hocevar and Corey Heim shared subtle jabs on social media Monday morning.

During the later portions of yesterday’s race at San Diego’s Naval Base Coronado, two drivers, Spire Motorsports’ Carson Hocevar, and 23XI Racing’s Corey Heim, had a run-in on track.
The wreck happened in the Arby’s Chicane between turns 15 and 16. Coming out of the chicane, Heim got into the right rear of Hocevar’s No. 77 while the two duked it out for the lead with Tyler Reddick.
For his part, Hocevar would go on to finish 19th, while Heim would outduel his teammate Reddick for his first career NASCAR Cup Series win.
After the race, there was little to talk about the collision from each driver, with Heim telling the media, “sorry to those guys for ruining their day. Obviously they were pretty fast.”
Hocevar posted to X, “well shucks. gw gr. that was a lot of fun,” though he also told Jeff Gluck of The Athletic he felt like he had a chance at winning before the contact.

While there were little to no fireworks between these two young drivers after the race, the run-in resonated with Hocevar’s fanbase, who took to social media upset with Heim.
In one post, a user said, “Had to spin out Hocevar to win it. #77 will remember.”
In response to this, Heim took a quick jab using Hocevar’s own words against his fan, posting a clip of the Spire driver from a YouTube video uploaded by NASCAR this pre-season in which Hocevar said in response to being voted most likely to cause a wreck, “Just get the f**k out of the way, and there wouldn’t be a wreck.”
Hocevar took note of this post, responding to Heim with a rather ominous post of his own.

While this could be in good fun, many fans have noted that the two have a history together, dating back to the 2023 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Championship race.
During that race, Heim, racing in his first full-time Truck Series season, was racing Hocevar for the lead and the championship when Hocevar wrecked the then Tricon Garage driver, costing Heim a championship many thought was rightfully his.
Though wounds heal with time, and Heim has since won the Truck championship, fans are asking if there was some small bit of revenge in Hocevar’s wreck at San Diego.
In opposition, some have chalked it up to a racing incident on a fairly new track.
Either way, both drivers signed long-term deals earlier this season with their respective teams, suggesting that they will have plenty of time to sort this out as time goes on.
